Owning a company that primarily services the NH and northern MA markets puts me in a slightly isolated economy at times. Couple that with the fact that we are in the employment business and are typically looked to for a real-time pulse of the market (where national employment statistics indicate no major turn-around as of yet) and we often find ourselves looking for ways to reinforce optimism other than simply saying "well....uh......we've been incredibly busy". Getting to the title of this post, investment fund raising is typically a pretty strong sign of economic optimism. Mass High Tech recently published an inspiring (well, I found it to be inspiring) article illustrating that investment fundraising has been up through Q1/Q2 of this year. When investment firms are able to go out and find "new money", that is typically a sign that, in the simplest of terms, people/institutions with money are optimistic and growth is on the rise.
